A communicator’s job is busy enough developing campaigns for an entire audience, but tailoring campaigns will make them more effective. This advice is based on survey results for 10 organizations over the last two years, where we asked for respondents’ top two preferred sources by topic (so the numbers in Figures 3.7 and 3.8, below, could add up to 200%).
The results for this study are compiled from survey data at 21 organizations that contracted with the author to undertake customized research within their companies between May 1997 and August 2004.
The number crunchers are sometimes chewing on the wrong figures; don’t let them determine what your success criteria should be.
It never fails. You come up with an idea guaranteed to improve communication. You write it up and give it to your boss. The idea either dies immediately or is sent to higher management to die more slowly.
